"Moonlighting: the Television Soundtrack Album" is the soundtrack to the ABC television series Moonlighting and was produced by Phil Ramone and Glenn Gordon Caron. It features songs performed on the show by series leads Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis, alongside the series theme song performed by Al Jarreau. That single peaked at #1 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart on July 25, 1987. Other songs include Chubby Checker's "Limbo Rock", The Isley Brothers's "This Old Heart of Mine (Is Weak for You)", and "When a Man Loves a Woman" by Percy Sledge.

"Just a Matter of Time" is an album by American vocalist Marlena Shaw recorded in 1976 and released on the Blue Note label. The song "Be For Real" was covered by Leonard Cohen on his 1992 album "The Future".

This is the group that features the falsetto Damon Harris. As a member of the Temptations from 1971-75, Harris' airy yet earthy falsetto powered such classics including "Papa Was a Rolling Stone" and the drug epic "Hurry Tomorrow." After his stint with the group, Harris rejoined his childhood group. The production here is reminiscent of his then-W.M.O.T. labelmates Blue Magic, and is produced by Bobby Eli. Impact finds Harris' vocals getting warmer gives his fans a chance to hear him in a fresher context. This group also had a raspy vocalist reminiscent of David Ruffin, who provided a good juxtaposition to Harris.

Atlas was a short lived Austrian band project that combined Jazz and Soul Funk in a unique way. The band was active from 1975 to 1978. The group consisted of various musicians from Vienna and Lower Austria who released one LP in small quantites in 1977…

Japanese funk group lead by vocalist Miho Fujiwara. The additional 4 bonus songs are from the soundtrack of the '80s anime "California Crisis", and were originally released as a solo EP of the same name by Miho Fujiwara, the lead singer of Chocolate Lips.

Up-Up And Away: The Definitive Collection a 2CD compilation by late 60's/early 70's pop group The 5th Dimension. This features all of their big hits, a few of their minor hits plus some key album cuts. This was released by Arista Records.

Zoot Money's Big Roll Band was one of the most popular and entertaining groups of the British R&B boom era. A charismatic personality, soulful singer and cool Hammond organist, Zoot was much loved by the Mods who flocked to his shows at London's In clubs like The Flamingo. The Beatles and Rolling Stones were among his greatest fans.

Possibilities is a Herbie Hancock adventure record. This ten-cut smorgasbord features the ever restless pianist, composer, and arranger in the company of literally dozens of artists, from pop singers like Christina Aguilera, Sting, and Annie Lennox to rock legends such as Santana and Paul Simon to relative newcomers like John Mayer, Jonny Lang, and Joss Stone, as well as some renowned international performers, such as Angélique Kidjo and Raul Midón in a wide range of songs, styles, and moods. Hancock cut the record in studios all over the world, all the collaborations were done face to face, not long distance. Session musicians here include everyone from Stevie Wonder (who plays the harmonica solo on the cover of his tune "I Just Called to Say I Love You"), to Santana to Cyro Baptista, Willie Weeks, John Pattitucci, Steven Jordan, and Gina Gershon (the actress)! The standout cuts are the sensual read of Leon Russell's "A Song for You," sung by Aguilera, Simon's jazzed-up revisioning of his "I Do It for Your Love," and Lennox's read of "Hush, Hush, Hush," written by Paula Cole (whatever happened to her?).

Love Song is a 2CD compilation of modern pop romanticism for 21st century children and old people from the 20th century who can get into the reality of love songs due to its strength, comfort and occasional depressive factors. This was released by Sony/BMG Entertainment in Europe.

This compilation gathers 21 songs from a small period in the career of Nina Simone, the 1967-1968 era of the British hit "Ain't Got No (I Got Life)" and LPs like 1967's Silk & Soul. Those looking for a tight collection of Simone's crossover period will find much to love here, from "It Be's That Way Sometimes" and "The Backlash Blues" to covers of "I Shall Be Released," "Just Like a Woman," and "The Look of Love." The big caveat, however, is the presence of "Ain't Got No (I Got Life)" only in a live version, which makes this collection much more difficult to justify. It's worth picking up on a whim, but definitely not a careful search.

It's a long way from Michigan to the West Coast, but Janiva Magness didn't lose a bit of that great Detroit R&B influence when she made the trip. She gained a dedicated, ardent fan base in the L.A. area and she enlisted some of the area's finest for this one. Kirk Fletcher and Kid Ramos tear it up on guitar. Songwriter Jeff Turmes plays bass and contributes some fine songs, particularly the slow smoker "The More I Keep on Losin'." Brother Red Young lays down some greasy B3, especially on the Ray Charles/Percy Mayfield tune "Tell Me How Do You Feel." And Magness is a little powerhouse throughout, just as comfortable shifting from Ruth Brown to James Brown. Fun stuff.

This essential 3-CD collectors edition contains 75 of the most legendary original songs of classic soul. Here you can find the most influential artists from the genres inception in the 1950s. All of these remastered tunes, the majority of which were hits at the time, represent a formidable slice of American popular culture. These seminal recordings constitute the building blocks of soul music.
